#63: What Is Your Philosophy of Technology Use?

According to Cal Newport (2019) we need a philosophy of technology use, which is “rooted in your deep values, that provides clear answers to the questions of what tools you should use and how you should use them and, equally important, enables you to confidently ignore everything else.”

He notes three options:

  • Neo-Luddites. To abandon most of new tech.
  • Quantified Self enthusiasts. To carefully pick and use digital devices in their day-to-day in hopes of optimizing performance and overall wellbeing.
  • Digital minimalists. To believe that less is more when it comes to our digital life.

Which one appeals to you the most?
